Here at VinePair HQ, we taste a lot of American wine. These American wines often differ drastically from the European bottles we taste, and a lot of this comes down to how wine is produced in each region of the world. In the U.S., winemakers have almost endless room for exploration, with regions not mandating they produce wines within a certain variety or style. This isn’t always the case in Europe, with strict denominations acting as guideposts for vintners.
Today on the “Wine 101” podcast, Keith discusses what it is about American wines that set them apart from their European counterparts. Tune in for more.
